Vivint Offer

Dear Parents at Clear Horizons Academy,

Thanks so much for all your help with the Vivint Gives Back Project!  It turned out to be a great way to raise funds for the needs here at the school.  We wanted to pass on a letter received by Vivint for your information:

"Thank you for participating in the 2011 Vivint Gives Back Project. We admire your resolve to help families in need and would like to acknowledge your dedication by offering your charity recipients a special discount on Vivint products.

There are many ways that the parents of children with Autism can use home automation to monitor their child’s safety more easily. Parents can use Vivint door locks and door sensors to prevent their children from going outside without a chaperone, and sensors can also help parents monitor their child’s diet more easily by tracking when children open fridges or pantries. Parents can also use our security cameras in their children’s bedrooms to check on their children when their sleeping. These are just a few of the ways that your families could use Vivint technology.

Because we know the families you serve could benefit from this technology, we would like to offer your charity recipients a special discount: $50 off the activation fee for a Vivint Home Automation package or $50 off the upgrade fee to home automation. This discount applies to all families that are affiliated with your charity and have family members with Autism.

We understand that treating Autism can be a financial burden on the families that you serve, so we’d also like to offer your organization three “Scholarship Accounts.” These accounts include the $50 discount off an upgrade or activation fee, as well as the Family and Friends monitoring fee discount. Vivint customers typically pay $68.99 per month for monitoring, but your scholarship account holders will pay only $48.99 each month. We encourage you to use these scholarships for families that can benefit from the features we offer but are not able to afford the full monthly monitoring price.

Please have the families who you deem eligible for the “scholarship accounts” contact me via email, hmero@vivint.com to get their accounts activated. "

 Enjoy!

Photo Op

Hi all-
A parent at the school passed this along and I thought that I would post it in case anyone is interested.  If not, disregard :)
Thanks!

"Hi ladies

I have an article coming out in the Ensign and Liahona in February. The art department just called and asked if I could find any referrals of people to be photographed for the article - which is world wide.

They are looking for Primary children who live in Utah and have a cognitive disability (autism, Down syndrome, bipolar disorder, etc). They specifically need children to represent different nationalities (Hispanic, African American, Indian, Samoan, etc).

If you or someone you know would be willing to have their child or children photographed, please contact me privately at danyelle@danyelleferguson.com. We have a tight deadline - August 26th

Thank you!"

For those of you who are interested, I got this from a parent today:

If you know of married parents of children with autism/Asperger syndrome who might be interested in sharing their experiences, please send them this link which is found on the Autism Speaks website: http://www.facebook.com/l/EAQDTzv8nAQApkt4WHaxdsPVnwXBuy0FahWEiKs1VnUy9zQ/www.kintera.org/site/apps/nlnet/content2.aspx?c=cdJGKONnFmG&b=3976705&ct=10899175 . Compensation is provided to those who complete the online survey. Would you post this message on your Facebook wall or email friends to help us recruit more participants? Thank you!"

Heroes for Autism Call Day

Clear Horizons Academy will be holding a fundraiser on Saturday, April 30th and we need your help! We are excited to end Autism Awareness Month with our first ever Heroes for Autism Call Day. At this unique fundraising event, we will be calling family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances to ask them to become a Hero for Autism by supporting the construction of a new facility for Clear Horizons Academy.  As an additional incentive, an anonymous donor has agreed to match, dollar for dollar, any donation made as part of this event.  That means that every dollar one of your family members or friends donates will become two dollars for Clear Horizons!

This event will be held on Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the ScenicView Academy auditorium.  We NEED your help to make this event a success.

If you would like to be a Hero for Autism by participating in the call events, donating money or finding friends to pledge time or money, please contact Molli Craghead at 801-437-0490 or Christopher Lindsay at 801-318-3469.

Thank you for your support! We are very excited for the new building and what it will mean for each one of our students.
